US government warns iPhone and iPad users over iOS bug

iPhone and iPad users are being alerted by US government. In a warning issued by US government, it is said that hackers may make use of vulnerability in Apple Inc’s iOS OS that will allow them to collect sensitive data.

The vulnerability behind the “Masque Attack” previously was unveiled by a network security company, explaining that it had been used to make way for so called “WireLurker” and that following it, more attacks will fall in place.

The sensitive data stored on iOS devices will be hacked by hackers after obtaining login credentials to access sensitive data stored and can also remotely keep an eye on those devices, as told by government.

If only the iPhone and iPad users will start installing applications from Apple’s App Store, there will be lesser chances of getting attacked, informed by government.

“We designed OS X and iOS with built-in security safeguards to help protect customers and warn them before installing potentially malicious software. We’re not aware of any customers that have actually been affected by this attack,” an email statement told by Apple.

While surfing on net, the users are advised not click “Install” from the pop-ups. If still any user has clicked on “Install”, the iOS device may flash a warning Pop-up saying “Untrusted App Developer,” and at that time the user may just click on “Don’t Trust” or could immediately uninstall the application, the bulletin told.
